Hey can I spend the night at your house tonight? My flight out of NYC was delayed...
Are you freaking kidding me? Of course you can spend the night! Why wouldn't I want to see one of my favorite people after not seeing them since July?
What followed was a blissful 15 hours of not so stellar hamburgers and shakes, sleeping, donuts, and grocery shopping. Was it coincidence it practically all revolved around food? Maybe.
We snapped a picture at the best donut place in the world (or at least that I've eaten at).
I love this picture even more than I love the donut in my hand, which is saying something. It is a carmel covered toffee donut. In the picture below you can see the one I purchased for David. There isn't anything more joyful than taste buds exalting at a donut covered in carmel and Skor bits.
Also pictured is an Oreo donut and Nutella donut. Kellie and I were intrigued at the salt and vinegar donut (not pictured). It was...good...but not great. It was basically a chocolate on chocolate donut drizzled with a balsamic reduction. If someone offered me a bite of another one, I'd take it, but not waste my calories on a whole (or half) donut.
If you come visit us we'll treat you to Sublime Donuts, too. :)

Awe, this just makes a mom's heart swell. :) I'm so glad Kellie's original flight didn't work out. There isn't much that beats out donuts and a surprise visit from a sister.
Good company and yummy food is hard to beat.
Fun!!! Visits from family is the best :) You look gorgeous Rachel!
