Happiness is...

Look what I found at Goodwill the other day? A HUGE book of Christmas music, and by the looks of it, all original arrangements. Check out the songs! I am only familiar with about 2/3rds of them.

This is a Christmas song? How wacky.

Below are the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th verses of Good King Wencelas. Have you heard these verses before?

"Everyone knows about Rudolph, our fleetfoted friend from the north who lights Santa's way through the darkness as he drives his sleigh back and forth. But there's someone else we should mention if we want the whole story told; He carried the first gift of Christmas, more precious than diamonds or gold."

I don't know about you, but "The Boar's Head Carol" sounds more like a Halloween song if you think about it...

I think the best part about this is how simple the arrangements are. They aren't so difficult (for me) that I'll have to laboriously slave over it's pages. I'd also like to thank the Mormon Tabernacle Choir for introducing at least a third of these songs to my Christmas carol repertoire.

Happiness is Christmas in April.

That is truly a treasure trove. You should bring it anytime we get together for Christmas.

Some of my best Christmas memories are singing with your Grandma Betty and Grandpa Blen playing the piano! Great traditions!
